WE ARE LOOKING FOR AN
IT MANAGER
ROLE-SPECIFIC COMPETENCIES
Networking
" Assists in the planning and implementation of additions, deletions and major modifications to the supporting local infrastructure.
" Implements network security at the local level as established by the Security Manager and in accordance with company policies.
" Oversees the administration and maintenance of the company's infrastructure.
" Oversees the administration of the company's LAN/WAN.
Internal Systems
" Oversees troubleshooting, systems backups, archiving, and disaster recovery and provides expert support when necessary.
" Works with project teams to help implement Internal Systems.
Help Desk Administration
" Oversees all help desk activities
" Responds to escalated help desk issues
" Oversees the administration and maintenance of tracking software
" Interacts with internal clients to help resolve IT-related issues and provides answers in a timely manner
Asset Management
" Interacts with superiors to manage the purchasing of all pertinent software, hardware and other IT supplies at the local level
" Ensures that company assets are maintained punctually and responsibly
TECHNICAL QUALITIES
Leadership
" Identifies opportunities for improvement and makes constructive suggestions for change
" Manages the process of innovative change effectively
" Remains on the forefront of emerging industry practices
QUALIFICATIONS
" Graduate or equivalent
" Professional qualifications or medium large company IT exposure/training
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE:
" Infrastructure systems management and implementation
" Broad understanding of IT service operations and change management
" Infrastructure monitoring systems management and implementation
" IT project management
" Windows based server and client systems, standard applications and database systems
" Active Directory domains management and implementation
" VMware virtualization environments
" Lotus Domino mail system infrastructure
" Local, geographical and wireless networks and security
EXPERIENCE:
" 5 years professional IT experience including a leadership position
" Broad and comprehensive experience of IT Infrastructure management and implementation
" Fleet management and desktop services and related processes
" Insurance/Financial Services experience is desirable but not mandatory
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:
" Implementation of systems within projects
" Feedback from key customers
" Processes and outputs performed to time/budget/objectives
